Jumbo King to open vada-pav outlets in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 15: Jumbo King Foods Pvt Ltd today announced that it has plans to expand the retail network by opening another 150 new vada-pav outlets across the metropolis.

The retail chain, which has at present 25 outlets, plans to open the first batch of 50 outlets outside 50 Central and Western railway stations and near colleges in the city.

Jumbo King Foods Pvt Ltd Managing Director Dheeraj Gupta told sources that ''we are looking at properties on rent near railway stations, in high streets and near colleges from those who are willing to be part of our fast growing family. The industry is growing exponentially and our aim is to take the consumerism to the masses as this expansion would drive 50 per cent of our growth.'' In addition to this, the vada-pav retail chain has introduced three new varieties including usal, chole and shezwan vada pav, which are priced at Rs 10, Rs 11 and Rs 12 respectively. The new varieties are available across all the 25 existing outlets.

''The new varieties are launched in order to cater to large group of people and is a result of customer feedback. We realised that our customers were looking at more offerings within the Jumbo King umbrella,'' added Mr Gupta.

At the launch Jumbo King also announced the launch of a contest Cricket Guru that can help consumers to win two tickets for the Champions Trophy. All one needs to do is try out the new varieties of Jumbo King vada-pav, fill up a form and get a chance to win two tickets for the Champions Trophy finals to be held at CCI, Churchgate on November 5.

The vada-pav retailer also plans to expand its network to other cities such as Pune and Nashik.
