High command to decide on alliance with other parties: Dullo
Jalandhar, Oct 15 (UNI) The ruling Congress state president Shamsher Singh Dullo today said his party is yet to take a decision on issue of poll alliance with Left parties or other friendly parties for the next assembly elections in Punjab.
Talking to reporters here today Mr Dullo said that he would forward his recommendation in this regard to the party high command at appropriate point of time and the high command would take a final decision in this regard.
Mr Singh said that political compulsions in the state did demand that the Left parties should join hands with the ruling Congress to ensure defeat of the communal Shiroman Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP combine.
On chief minister Captain Amaridner Singh's opinion against a poll alliance with left parties, the PCC chief said it might be the chief minister's personal view point but the issue was still open and the party high command would take a final decision in this regard.
Over possibility of alliance or adjustment with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mr Dullo said that BSP was also a communal party which did encourage caste based politics. Moreover, after Babu Kanshi Ram's death the party has no say among people in the state any more.
Mr Dullo was in the town for the death anniversary programme of former minister late Darshan Singh Kaypee. Mr Kapyee's son, state minister Mohinder Singh Kaypee, his cabinet colleagues Avtar Henry and Amarjit Singh Samra, Parliamentary secretary Raj Kumar Verka and other dignitaries also participated in the programme.
