UN flag to be hoisted along with tricolor on UN Day

Chandigarh, Oct 13 (UNI) The Union government has directed all states and Union territories to hoist the United Nations Flag along with the National Flag on the United Nations Day on October 24.

In this regard, a spokesman of the Punjab government here said, necessary directions have been issued to the Divisional and Deputy Commissioners of the State that the United Nations Flag should be flown on all public buildings in the state on which the National Flag is regularly flown as a standing practice.

However, the United Nations Flag should not be hoisted on Raj Bhawans, Raj Niwas and other buildings housing Legislative Councils, Legislative Assemblies and High Courts.

He further added that there is no objection to the state government to unfurl United Nations Flags along with the National Flag on buildings of district headquarters also on the United Nations Day.
