TDP to petition Prez, PM for removal OF Shinde, YSR
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) The main opposition TDP today decided to step up agitation and also petition President and Prime Minister to press for the removal of Union Power Minister and then Andhra Pradesh Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekara Reddy in the wake of their alleged indictment in the Gouru Venkat Reddy clemency case by the Supreme Court.
The party would organise state-wide dharnas before Collectorates on October 16 and raise slogans in front of the statues of B R Ambedkar, architect of the constitution on October 19 to 'save democracy and save constitution,' TDP general secretary K Srihari and Party MP R Chandrasekara Reddy said briefing reporters on the decisions taken by an emergency politburo meeting chaired by TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu.
A party delegation would leave for New Delhi on October 18 or 19 to meet Dr Kalam and Dr Singh to press the demand. The party would mount pressure on the ruling Congress at the national level for their renival, they added.
On the Outer Ring Road (ORR) 'scam,' the TDP decided to carry on the united struggle launched with the involment of major opposition parties, including the TRS, BJP and the Left Parties, the TDP leaders said.
