Snow on Dhauladhar Ranges, rains lash Kangra
Dharamshala, Oct 13 (UNI) The Dhauladhar Ranges overlooking Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy spell of snowfall, while heavy rains lashed other areas today, plummeting temperatures in Kangra district.
The Dhauladhar Ranges experienced a fresh spell of heavy snowfall early today and official sources said the temperatures in the entire district have registered a sharp decline.
The sky was covered under dark clouds and by 1000 hrs it had started raining in the entire Valley followed by strong winds that uprooted trees and electricity poles at several places besides disrupting power supply at several places in the district.
The sources said the day temperatures in the entire district tumbled by a few degrees after the Dhauladhar Ranges experiencing snowfall for the second day today.
Day and night temperatures in the twin tribal districts of Kinnuar and Lahaul Spiti have also fallen by a few degrees in the last few days, the met office said.
The day and night temperatures across the state have plummeted by a few degrees with mornings and evenings getting cooler though the sky was maily clear over the majority area of the state.
Shimla and other adjoining areas had another bright and a sunny day today and people were seen basking in the bright sunshine.
