Sensex opens strong by 95 pts, opens at 12, 632.62
Mumbai, Oct 13: The Bombay Stock Exchnge (BSE) Sensitive index today opened 95 points in the green at 12,632.62, as investors queued up to buy IT, Teck, Oil&gas and FMCG stocks.
Currently Sensex is trading at 12,701, which is 164 points more than the previous close.
Traders are in buyoyant mood and assume the second quarter results would meet their expectation or even cross it. The apprehension is only in the Oil&Gas and Metals scrips, which are largely driven by the crude oil price, say experts.
Amongst the sectoral indices on BSE, IT is up by 1.69 per cent, Bankex is up by 1.44 per cent, FMCG by 1.26 per cent, and Oil&Gas by 1.18 per cent.
Major gainers on BSE-30 index are Reliance Communications, HDFC Bank, Infosys, HLL, ONGC, Wipro, BHEl, Ranbaxy, Reliance Industries and HDFC all up between 1.54 to 3.53 per cent.
Besides the loser is only one that is Bajaj Auto down by 0.56 per cent to Rs 3,130.00.
