Russia, China oppose extreme sanctions on N. Korea

MOSCOW, Oct 13 (Reuters) Russia and China oppose ''extreme sanctions'' against North Korea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today.

''We with China have a common position in the need to have a balanced approach, not to be emotional and not to apply extreme sanctions,'' Lavrov told reporters in Moscow, RIA news agency reported.

''This problem can only be resolved peacefully,'' Lavrov said.
