Rains forecast in Punjab, J

Pune, Oct 13 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from some more parts of Gangetic West Bengal, entire Jharkhand, most parts of Orissa, entire Chattisgarh and Vidarbha, some parts of Telangana, some parts of north interior Karnataka, entire Marathwada, most parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and some more parts of central Arabian sea.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy rains have occured at a few places in Tamil Nadu. Rain or thundershowers have occured at a few places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The southwest monsoon has been subdued over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura,coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh and in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Vidarbha and were above normal in some parts of Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, east Rajasthan, north Madhya Maharashtra. They were appreciably below normal in Sikkim and were below normal in some parts of Gujarat.

Night tempratures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Jharkhand and interior Orissa. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Gujrat, and north Madhya Maharashtra. They were above normal in Sikkim, Konkan, Goa and in some parts of coastal Orissa, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, and north Telangana.
