PM Khaleda Zia congratulates Prof Yunus on winning Nobel Prize

Dhaka, Oct 13 (UNI) Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia today congratulated Professor Dr Mohammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

''This is a much awaited prize,'' she said in a message.

Ms Khaleda said micro-credit conception is a basic innovation of Prof Yunus, which has made tremendous success in alleviating poverty in Bangladesh and elsewhere.

Ms Khaleda said this prize was not only a great honour for Prof Yunus himself, but also a pride for Bangladesh.
