Pak manufactured fake currency seized; one arrested
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Crime branch of the Delhi police has arrested a man who ran a fake currency racket in North India with help from Pakistan's ISI.
Police said Khalil Ahmed alias Kalil Mota (60) was arrested from East Delhi's Welcome colony on October 7.
Police recovered fake Indian currency worth Rs 50,000 from the accused. The currency notes were in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
During interrogation he disclosed that the currency came from Pakistan via ''carriers''. Police said the ''carriers'' would some times be innocent citizens who are blackmailed to ferry the currency in their luggage across the border.
The also revealed that the cross border Delhi-Lahore bus and Attari Express train service are extensively used to push fake currency into India.
