Outlaws diktat for Sr Govt official in Manipur
Imphal, Oct 13 (UNI) Outlawed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has served an ultimatum to a senior Manipur government officer to seek voluntary retirement and surrender before the outfit within ten days or face ''capital punishment''.
The diktat came after the outfit found that the official had misused funds meant for students.
A KYKL spokesman speaking to the media said the group had launched a major drive to cleanse the education system in Manipur under ''Operation New Kangleipak'' (ONK) and a large number of officials were punished for misusing funds meant for students.
The outfit also named an official, who was given ultimatum, in the rank of additional director in the education department.
Three other officials of the same department also confessed to siphoning off funds, the spokesman said. He gave a list of the funds which were allegedly misused. He further charged a senior officer with misuse of funds and appointment of Hindi teachers in the Thoubal district.
