No sealing till Oct 31 in view of festival season:Monitoring comm.
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) In what will come as a temporary relief for owners of shops in residential areas, the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee on the sealing issue today directed that there be no sealing of commercial properties in Delhi till October 31 in view of the festival season.
The deicsion to this effect was taken in a meeting where senior officers of the Delhi police and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi were present, a spokesperson of the Corporation said.
The Monitoring committee also directed the concerned officers to work out modalities for sealing operation, scheduled to start from November 1, the spokesperson said.
The decision of the Monitoring Committee comes as a welcome relief for thousands of traders operating in residential areas as the MCD has issued public notices of its intention to seal shops falling under the negative list in the September 7 notification of the Urban Development as also those which did not fall under the 2183 commercial and mixed use roads notified by the Delhi government on September 15.
