NCDEX looks at futures trading in energy sectors
Kolkata, Oct 13 (UNI) Commodity exchange NCDEX is looking at introducing futures trading in coal, electricity and cement, chief operating officer Meher Baburaj said today.
"We are carrying on research in the sectors to gauge the potential of future trading. A decision will be taken shortly," Ms Baburaj said here.
The research would find out the mechanisms required for implementation of futures trading in the energy sectors, she said.
Ms Baburaj was speaking on the sidelines of an eastern zonal conference of members of national commodity exchanges hosted by Forward Markets Commission (FMC).
So far, FMC has approved futures trading in coking coal in Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX).
