Miz govt to take up 7 new power proj in 2007
Aizawl, Oct 13: To improve the power supply in the region, the state power and electricity department have taken up seven new projects during 2007.
The scheme includes three hydel projects and four plans of improving the sub-station and distribution network in the region, Power department's additional chief engineer H L Parthasarathy told UNI here today.
The projects taken by the power department under non-lapsable central pool of resources includes improvement of sub-station and distribution network within the regin at Rs 32 crore with 85 per cent physical achievement, the construction of 132 KV line from Bairabi to Bawtlang in Kolasib district at Rs 4.56 crore, he added.
Another 132 KV double circuit transmission lines from Kolasib to Seruli at Rs 3.15 crore and 132 KV double circuit transmission line from Kolasib to Melriat sub-station at a cost of Rs 21.51 crore is also in the pipe line, he said.
The department had also taken up three hydel projects, such as Maicham stage-II (3MW), Seruli B (12MW) and Lamsial (500MW) of which Seruli B hydel project has already been awarded to BHEL-MECON company, he said adding ''we have also taken up construction of 132KV lines from Saitual to Darlawn, from Khawzawl to Lungdar and from Khawzawl to Ngopa under North Eastern Council scheme.
