Kolhapur city gets Rs 91 cr from State Government
Kolhapur, Oct 13 (UNI) Maharashtra government has sanctioned Rs 91.437 crore to the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) under the ''Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT)''.
Informing this to reporters here today, KMC commissioner Kunal Kumar said out of the sanctioned amount, Rs 58.44 crore will be spent on city's drinking water supply projects, Rs 31.98 crore on sewage treatment projects, and the rest on the development of areas around the Mahalaxmi Temple.
Out of the sanctioned amount, Rs 62.997 crore (including Rs 30 crore for drinking water projects and Rs 31.98 crore for sewage treatment projects) will become aavailable in the current financial year itself and the works will be initiated within two months, Mr Kumar said.
The KMC had earlier submitted a total plan of Rs 492 crore under various head to the State Government for approval, and the sanctioned amount of Rs 91.437 crore is part of that plan, he pointed out.
Likewise, the State Government has also sanctioned Rs 50 crore to the Sangli Municipal Corporation under UIDSSMT, Mr Kumar informed.
