Kashmiris unsafe in India, says Mirwaiz Hurriyat

Srinagar, Oct 13: The moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has alleged that Kashmiris were labelled as ''terrorists'' and as such ''unsafe'' in India.

In a statement here, a Hurriyat spokesman said Kashmiris were being murdered in every part of India for their only crime of pursuing the ''cause of freedom of their homeland.'' ''This is being done with a sinister design to brand the ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmiris as terrorism,'' he added.

The spokesman claimed that Kashmiris were ''unsafe'' in India.

''India cannot weaken the ongoing freedom movement by sending Kashmiri youth to gallows and torturing them to death in police custody. The Kashmiris would continue their struggle against Indian imperialism till the restoration of their rights,'' he alleged.
