Gold coin: Hunt for woman Congress candidate on

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Oct 13 (UNI) Police are on the look out for a woman candidate of the Congress for allegedly luring voters with gold coins in this coastal town.

Amudha a congress candidate was contesting in the 26th ward of the Cuddalore Municipality where elections are scheduled for October 15. Her husband had reportedly distributed gold coins to the voters at Sanjeevi Naidu street in the town.

Following a complaint from rival candidate K Vijayalakshmi of the CPI(M), the police rushed to the spot, but the couple managed to escape.

Two Congress workers have been arrested in this regard, police sources said.
