Goa Govt proposes 230-bed hospital at Rs 40 cr in Ponda
Panaji, Oct 13 (UNI) The Goa government has proposed to invest Rs 40 crore on the existing ID hospital at Ponda to upgrade it to a 230-bed well equipped hospital soon.
Announcing this at Sacordem in Sanguem taluk after inaugurating a sub-health centre built a cost of Rs 4.25 lakh yesterday, Health Minister said the this sub-centre would be brought under the Ponda hospital.
The government, he said, has also decided to run the Central Hospital at Tiska Usagao under the private sector for which it had called for expression of interest.
The private sector would be provided with Rs one crore to run the hospital, which could provide the people with free medicare, he added.
The Minister said the state had also decided to fill all the vacant posts in hospitals, besides introducing mobile health services and upgrading mediclaim scheme and improving the standards of health sector in Goa.
