Bank manager shot at, robbed of Rs 29 lakh

New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) In a daring daylight attempt, a bank manager was shot at by three motorcycle-borne assailants and looted of nearly Rs 29 lakh in South Delhi's Sangam Vihar area this afternoon.

Vinod Kumar Dogra (40), manager of United Commercial Bank in Sangam Vihar's 'H' Block, was shot at outside the bank at about 1500 hrs by the attackers, who came on two motorcycles, said sources.

The assailants also took away the bag, containing Rs 29 lakh which was to be deposited at the bank's main branch at Saket.

The bullet hit his stomach and he was admitted to the Batra Hospital and operated upon. Presently, he is out of danger, said a senior police official.
