Bank employee shot at, robbed of Rs 29 lakh

New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) In a daring daylight robbery, three motorcycle-borne assailants looted nearly Rs 29 lakh, after shooting a bank employee in South Delhi's Sangam Vihar area this afternoon.

The attackers, who came on two motorcycles, shot at Vinod Kumar (40) outside United Commercial Bank in Sangam Vihar's 'H' Block, and took away the bag in which he was carrying the money, said sources.

Injured Vinod was admitted to the Batra Hospital and operated upon. Presently, he is out of danger, said a senior police official.

Vinod was on his way to Saket to deposit the money at the bank's main branch when the attack took place.
