14 teams for All India Police Water Sports meet
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) The sixth All India Police Water Sports Championships will be held at the picturesque Hussainsagar Lake here from October 16 to 19.
State Director General of Police (DGP) Swaranjit Sen told newspersons today that 14 state and Central teams, besides hosts Andhra Pradesh will take part in three major events--Rowing, Canoeing and Kayaking.
The spectators would also be entertained with an exhibition of adventurous exercises like, Skiing, Ski-Jumping and Para- Sailing, he said.
The teams in fray include, Andaman&Nicobar, Boarder Security Force (BSF), CRPF, Delhi Police, Haryana, Jammu&Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Orissa, SSB, Tamil Nadu, Uttaranchal. Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.
An eight member All-India Police team will be selected from this championships to take part inthe Nationals to be held later this year.
Meanwhile, the All-India Police Sports Control Board is also planning to field the Indian Police team in the International Water Sports Championships.
