117 militancy victims in J

Srinagar, Oct 13 (UNI) As part of the Jammu and Kashmir government's efforts to rehabilitate the militancy-affected people, Rs 4.56 crore will be provided as loan on moderate rate of interest to 117 victims of violence from the Valley, an official spokesman said today.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Social Welfare Minister Haji Nissar Ali here today.

The meeting was told that the loan component would comprise of 40 per cent by the National Minority Finance and Development Corporation (NMFDC), 40 per cent by Jammu and Kashmir Bank, 10 per cent by the State Corporation for SC, ST and OBC and 10 per cent margin money would be kept by the prospective beneficiaries, drivers and cleaners in this case.

The loan would be redeemed by the beneficiaries in easy installments. All the 117 militancy-affected drivers and cleaners have been identified by the respective Deputy Commissioners of the Kashmir division in consultation with the Kashmir Motors and Drivers Union, the spokesman said.
