'Wings of Illusion'to carry magical messages of 'Wings of Fire'
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 12 (UNI) "Wings of illusion", a magical version of "Wings of Fire", the widely admired autobiography of President APJ Abdul Kalam, presents his life story in a first-ever "magical translation".
Created by illusionist Gopinath Muthukad, "Wings of Illusion" traces Dr Kalam's boyhood in a seaside village and rise to become one of the foremost scientists and finally as the President.
The first performance of the 45-minute show will be held here on October 15, the day that marks the 75th birthday of the President, Mr Muthukad said in a release.
The illusion show will be held in all the district headquarters in the state before concluding in Kasaragod on October 29.
The magic scenes would unveil how the island town of Rameswaram, where the Islamic and Hindu hymns resounded in unison, nourished the sense of communal harmony in a toddler's mind, he said. There would also be a scene of an estranged sea bird flying across the evening sun that instilled in the tender mind of the child, the habit of dreaming about a world beyond horizons, he added.
The magician said the show would also depict the story of Iyyadurai Solomon, one of the beloved teachers of Kalam, who empowered the boy with scientific temperament .
The 'Wings of Illusion' also portrays the unusual determination with which Dr Kalam as a scientist, overcame disappointment when the first launch of SLV failed miserably, he said.
An innovative cine magic wherein the magician interacts with the characters of a film projected on a screen, just to highlight a few messages of environmental conservation was also included in the show. It would conclude with reiteration of the President's passionate call to make the country economically prosperous and industrially developed by the year 2020, Mr Muthukad said.
Kerala Minister for Culture and Education M A Baby would inaugurate the show.
