UFBU calls All India Bank strike on October 27
Kolkata, Oct 12 (UNI) United Forum of Bank Union(UFBU), a conglomerate of all the nine major Bank unions in the country, has called a day's nationwide strike on October 27 to protest the "casual approach" of Indian Bank' Association(IBA) towards its four point demands.
As a result Banking services in all types of banks across the country is likely to come to a halt causing severe inconveniences to millions of cusmoters.
Announcing the Unions' decision UFBU convenor Prafulla Kumar Patnaik in a statement here today said following the 'casual approach' of IBA and its Chairman V P Shetty towards meeting their four point demands, including restoration of second option pension, re-launching of recruitment programme and immediate discontinuation of outsourcing of jobs, they had decided to resort to a one day All India strike in the industry.
Reiterating the UFBUs decision to take up extensive campaign on their unanimous decison to go for the strike, Mr Patnaik said more than one million bank employees across the country would take part in the day long strike.
Incidentally, this would be the second All India Bank strike in support of the same issues.
