Slightly humid conditions in Delhi but mercury remains at 35.5 deg C
New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) After a cool day yesterday, slightly humid conditions were experienced in the capital today even though the cool North Westerly winds continued to bring relief from the sultry conditions of past few days.
Though the maximum temperature today remained at 35.5 degree Celsius, same as yesterday, there was a slight rise in minimum temperature to 23 degree C, from 22 degree C yesterday.
The slightly humid conditions today notwithstanding the weathermen have forecast a drop in mercury in the next few days in the run up to the Diwali festival, which heralds the onset of the Winter season.
While there is expected to be a drop in maximum temperature to 33 degree C on Sunday, the minimum temperature is likely to drop to 20 degree C by Sunday.
The Capital has been experiencing hot and sultry days since the beginning of the week as the dry weather conditions, coupled with bright sun left the residents of the city perspiring.
The sultry weather led to a sharp rise in the maximum temperature to 37 degree Celsius on Tuesday, from 35.7 degree C on Monday.
The minimum temperature also rose to 24 degree C.
The cool Northwesterlies yesterday, however, led to a drop in maximum temperature to 35.5 degree C.
The weather office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
