Srinagar, Oct 12 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir High Court, has quashed the detention of two people arrested under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The order came in response to a petition filed by parents of Farooq Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad Lone alleging that they were implicated in a false case by police.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court set aside the detention and ordered their immediate release.
The two were awarded two-year jail term under the PSA for their alleged involvement in the militancy.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) alleged that despite the court orders, other detenues were not being released by the police.
He alleged that seven people were re-arrested by the police immediately after their release from the jail.
Demanding immediate release of all the detenues, he alleged thousands of Kashmiris are languishing in different jails in and outside the state without any trail.
