History of a freedom fighter to find place in school books

Patna, Oct 12 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has assured to consider the inclusion of freedom fighter Ram Krishna Singh's life sketch into the school curriculum.

Ram Krishna Singh had unfurled the tricolour on the secretariat tower in Patna on August 11, 1942 during the 'Quit India' movement called by Mahatma Gandhi.

Mr Modi said the state government would include the life history of this great freedom fighter into the school curriculum which would inspire the younger generations to serve the nation selflessly.

''We will try to make arrangents for state celebration of his birth anniversary on April 15,'' Mr Modi added.

Many of the associates of Ram Krishna Singh had sacrificed their lives while marching ahead to unfurl the tricolor on August 11, 1942 at the call of the father of the nation.

Earlier, a postal stamp of the freedom fighter was issued by the NDA government in 2003.
