Dr Cherian chosen Independent Observer of FRCS Specialty Exam
Chennai, Oct 12 (UNI) Eminent cardiologist K M Cherian, Chairman of Frontier Lifeline Hospital, has been selected as Independent Observer for FRCS Speciality Exam conducted by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
An official release said here, that this was for the first time an observer from India has been requested to discharge this esteemed service in a specialty examination conducted by the Royal College of Surgeons, in conjunction with the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
The Royal College of Surgeons regularly conducts examinations, which awards the internationally recognized ''Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons'' (FRCS) to the surgeon, who successfully completes the stringent exams.
This year Dr Cherian has been invited to be an Independent Observer in the Specialty Fellowship Exam in Cardiothoracic Surgery, to be conducted on October 15 and 16 in Singapore.
As an eminent personality in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, who has pioneered several procedures in India, this is an apt recognition that paves the way for increasing participation from Indian doctors in international qualifying exams.
