Bajaj Auto announces 50 pc growth in motorcycle sales
Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Bajaj Auto registered a 50 per cent growth in motorcycle sales in September 2006 at 271,377 units as compared to 180,926 units in the same month last fiscal.
Announcing this, a company release said Bajaj's total 2 and 3 wheeler sales for September 2006 were at a record 300,141 units, reflecting a growth of 38 per cent over 218,012 units of September 2005.
Of the motorcyle sales, as many as 121,521 units of high end motorcycles discover, pulsar and avenger constituted 45 per cent, while the remainder with entry level bikes and its variants.
On three-wheeler sales, the release noted that 27,870 units of 3-wheelers were sold in September 2006, a growth of 21 per cent over 23,118 units of September 2005.
Among the total sales of 2 and 3 wheelers, 37,088 units were exported, showing a growth of 58 per cent over 23,463 units of September 2005.
