Azad to meet people in their areas and not in his office
Srinagar, Oct 12 (UNI) People from far-flung areas desiring to meet Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will no longer have to wait for months or travel hundreds of kilometers to do so.
As a goodwill gesture, Mr Azad has from now onwards decided to visit the far-flung areas himself to meet the people instead of them travelling all the way to have an appointment with him.
The system of listening to the grievances of the people in their respective areas and issuing appropriate orders for an on-the- spot redressal was initiated by the Chief Minister from the frontier district of Kupwara yesterday.
The novel system will help save time and travel expenditure of the people and deputations who had to travel from far-flung areas and fac lot of inconvenience to meet the Chief Minister at his private office here.
Mr Azad reached Kupwara where long queues of people were waiting to meet him. The deputations that called on him included Aman Committee Lolab Sogam, Ramhal Welfare Forum, parents of children who suffered in Wullar boat tragedy, All Jammu and Kashmir Pasmanda Tabkajat, inhabitants of Kalaroos, Kupwara, Villgam, Handwara, Hayahama Trehgam, Kralpora, Langate, Qaziabad and Machil.
The people have appreciated this goodwill gesture of Mr Azad.
