Kumaraswamy ruled out judicial inquiry into violence in Mangalore
Mangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today ruled out ordering Judicial inquiry into the recent violence in Mangalore City and surrounding areas in which two people were killed and over 100 were injured.
Speaking to newsmen after visiting hospitals and inquiring health conditions of injured, he said that his immediate priority would be to restore peace and tranquillity in the district.
Stating that as lot of investment was on the pipeline to the district for the economic development of the region generating large scale employment, Mr Kumaraswamy appealed that the people, irrespective of caste and religion, should cooperate with the government and the District administration in maintaining peace and harmony.
Reacting to the allegations by Opposition Congress leaders about the failure of the government in containing the violence, Mr Kumaraswamy sharply replied that the District administration was able to contain the violence within two days for which he would complement them. Such small incident was not knew, it had happened earlier even during the Congress regime.
