Govt to provide boats to police at Mullaperiyar dam site

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 11 (UNI) The Kerala Cabinet today decided to provide a boat to police deployed at Mullaperiyar dam site for effective monitoring.

Briefing newspersons here, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said that at present, police from the state were depending on the boats owned by Tamil Nadu.

The government would also set up a watch tower to monitor the area, he said, adding that police would be provided with accommodation facilities in the site.
