Workshop on agro-forestry from tomorrow

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) A two day National Workshop on Rural Development through Integration of Agro-forestry and Wood Based Industries will begin here tomorrow.

The objective of the Workshop is to find a permanent solution to the problems of sustainable supply of raw materials for wood based industries through agro-forestry schemes which will result in rural development.

A strategy document based on the recommendations of the workshop for consideration of the Government and policy makers to achieve the national goal of bringing 1/3rd of the land area of the country under the forest and tree cover.

Representatives from scientific institutions, plywood and panel industries, pulp and paper industries, forest departments, farmers and other user Government/Public/Private organisations will take part in the workshop.
