WIMA's Mega Exhibition to begin in Aurangabad

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Oct 10: Union Minister of state for rural development Suryakanta Patil will inaugurate the 'Mega Exhibition and Sale', a seven day event of the women entrepreneurs, organised by the Aurangabad Centre of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs/Industrialists of Maharashtra (WIMA), here on October 12.

Addressing a conference here today, WIMA's Chairperson Suchitra Kanade said that former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde and noted TV artist Smriti Irani would be attending the inaugural function along with other dignatories including MP Chandrakant Khaire and Former minister of state for home and MLA Rajendra Darda.

According to her, women entrepreneurs from the state as well as few of the neighbouring states such as West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat will participate in the mega exhibition that would show case their products during the event.

Targetted at enhancing entrepreneurship skill among the woman and to provide them a platform for marketting their products, the annual event has proved a success, by inspiring over 50 women to begin their own business, Ms Kanade told reporters.

According to her, 'Lifestyle and Handicraft' will be the basic theme of the exhibition.

The WIMA has organised various seminars during the event for the women entrepreneurs participating in the expo, she said.

The WIMA has organised a felicitiation of social activists Sindhutai Sapkal with the honour, WIMA woman of the year award during the event.

WIMAs state awards which are being given annually would also be given away to the women entrepreneurs selected for these awards, during the event, Ms Kanade said.

President of Aurangabad centre of WIMA, Ms Anjali Pande, Vice-President Vijaya Paturkar, Secretary Usha Dhamne were present on the occasion.
