Uttaranchal assembly tribute to Kanshi Ram.

Dehradun, Oct 10 (UNI) Uttaranchal Assembly today paid tribute to Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram.

PWD and parliamentary affairs minister Indira Hridayesh terming Kashiram a leader of Masses, particularly the downtrodden sections, said that he had boosted the confidence of Bahujan Samaj and assimilated them into the mainstream. Leader of Opposition and BJP member Matbar Singh Kandari, eulogising Kanshi Ram, said the late leader always fought for the cause of backward classes and had given them a political voice. Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leader Kashi Singh Airy and Bahujan Samaj Party leader HariDas too paid homage. On the request of BSP MLA Narain Pal, Speaker Yashpal Arya assured he would propose to Government that a statue of the late leader be set up in Dahradyb.

The House observed silence for two minutes.
