UKD activist rounded up for disturbing Assembly Session
Dehradun, Oct 10 (UNI) An Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD)party worker was today rounded up for disturbing the ongoing Uttaranchal Assembly Session which started here today when he tried to venture in the House shouting slogans against Delimitation Commission.
The political activist suddenly entered the press gallery and started shouting 'Parisiman ayog vapas jao' (Delimitation Commission go back)in the middle of Question Hour. The session was disturbed for a few minutes. He was immediately brought under control by the Assembly security staff and handed over to the police.
It may be recalled that Uttarakhand Kranti Dal which has its stronghold in hill areas, has been opposing the proposed delimitation draft that would bring down the numbers of constituencies from hill areas and add to plain areas. The UKD party workers yesterday demonstrated at Nainital Club in Nainital district during Delimitation Commission hearings. Police had to round up scores of party workers including three MLAs who were later released.
Rudraprayag district in the state observed bandh today called by UKD against delimitation. The party has decided to oppose ommission's hearings in other places also.
