Two held for alleged of human sacrifice attempt

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 10 (UNI) City police arrested two persons last night in connection with alleged attempt of human sacrifice involving an eight-year-old school girl recently, police sources said today.

The accused have allegedly tried to sacrifice an eight-year-old school girl, in the quest of treasure-trove recently. However, the girl reportedly foiled their attempt by escaping from them on Saturday, they said.

The two accused --- Chandrakant Dhangare and his brother in-law Nivrutti Tajne-- who were staying at the rented house in the Jaybhawaninagar locality, were arrested by the police late last night and an offence has been registered against them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with the case.

According to the police sources, the eight-year-old girl, who was playing near her house in Jaybhawaninagar locality, was allegedly taken away by the accused by luring her with chocolates.

The girl was shocked to see a ditch dug in the rear of the house, where she was taken away by the accused, and preparation was made to perform a 'puja'.

Sensing the danger, the minor pushed the person holding her hand and escaped.

On her return, she narrated the whole story to her mother. Her parents along with their neighboures approached the police yesterday and lodged a complaint to this effect.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Cidco Division, Navin Chandra Reddy visited the house where the accused have allegedly made an attempt of human sacrifice and sealed the room.

Talking to UNI, Mr Reddy said that the police are now on the look out of exorcist (Mantrik), and his associates who were believed to behind the entire incident.
