Training on women's helpline begins in AP
Tirupati, Oct 10 (UNI) A three-day orientation-cum-training programme for operators of women's helpline working in the southern states was inaugurated by AP State Social Welfare Board Chairperson Karumanchi Rama Devi here today.
The programme was organised by the Department of Population and Social Work of the S V University with the AP Social Welfare Board and Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS), an NGO.
Speaking at the inaugural, RASS General Secretary G Munirathanam Naidu spoke on the usefulness of the helpline.
Ms Rama Devi and S V University Former Principal K Mahadeva explained about the importance of the helpline.
About 100 women helpline opertors from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondichery and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are attending the programme.
