Three persons die after drinking spirit

Agartala, Oct 10: Altogether three persons have died in Tripura's Dhalai district since Sunday after they drank poisonous spirit, police said today.

They said the toll rose to three after one died of chemical reaction in hospital yesterday. Another person was also hospitalised in the same case.

Police said all the three dead persons were of a tribal community.

Three unauthorised medicine sellers were arrested in this connection and they were remanded in police cusody.

However, unofficial death toll was put at five.
