SP nominee files nomination in Malehra
Bhopal, Oct 10(UNI) Samajwadi Party nominee Surendra Singh today filed his nomination papers for the Assembly byelection in Malehra constituency in Chhatarpur district.
His father Gauri Singh Yadav is the party's Madhya Pradesh unit President.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's son and MP Akhilesh Yadav and Jhansi MP Chandra Pal Singh were among those present during filing of papers at Chhatarpur.
Former CPI MLA Kapoor Chand Ghuwara has been declared BJP candidate for Malehra seat, vacated by former Chief Minister Uma Bharti after her expulsion from BJP.
AICC General Secretary Satyavrat Chaturvedi's close associate Jagdish Shukla filed his papers as Congress candidate yesterday though the party was yet to officially declare its candidate.
Samajwadi Party's state General Secretary Munnawar Salim had already filed papers for the Lok Sabha byelection in Vidisha, which fell vacant on the resignation by Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan on his election to the Assembly after becoming Chief Minister.
State PHE Minister Rampal Singh will file his nomination as BJP candidate from Vidisha on October 13. Ms Uma Bharti has declared Bhartiya Jan Shakti state president Raghunandan Sharma as the party candidate from Vidisha.
No nomination has been filed for the Vidisha byelection today.
