South Asia media workshop in Mysore from Oct 12

Mysore, Oct 10: The University of Mysore, in association with UNESCO and PANOS, South Asia, is hosting a two-day South Asia media workshop from October 12.

In a release here, varsity International Centre Director Prof R Indira said the workshop would explore the role of media in promoting sustainable development and deliberate on key issues like educational TV, rural-urban dynamics, environmental conservation and education-equity relationship.

Mediapersons from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, besides India would participate in the workshop, he said.

The United Nations had declared the decade 2005-2014 as the decade of education for sustainable development and had designated UNESCO as the lead agency for the promotion, he added.
