Singh, Blair meet today; discuss terrorism
London, Oct 10: India will convey to the United Kingdom its readiness to fight against terrorism during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with his British counterpart Tony Blair.
After a half-an-hour-long one-to-one meeting at 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister, both the leaders will be assisted by delegation-level talks.
External affairs Minister Anand Sharma, National security Advisor M K Narayanan, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon will assist the Prime Minister in the talks.
After the meeting, both Dr Singh and Mr Blair will address a joint press conference.
Mr Blair will then host a lunch in honour of Dr Singh.
In the afternoon, both the leaders will address the closing session of the India-UK Investment Summit.
A 70-member Indian business delegation has already reached London to attend the summit. Commerce Minister Kamal Nath will also attened the summit.
In the evening, UK Chancellor of Exchequer and UK Foreign Secretary will call on the Indian Prime Minister.
On October 11, the Prime Minister will be conferred upon an Honory Doctorate by the Cambridge University by the Duke of Edinburgh, the vice-chancellor. He will also visit the St John's school where a public reception will be hsoted in his honour. On the same day evening he will depart for Helsinki, the Finnish capital to attend the seventh India-EU Summit.
