Release of two Pakistani prisoners stalled

Jaisalmer, Oct 10 (UNI) Two Pakistani citizens, who have completed their jail terms here, will be continued to be kept in custody under the National Security Act.

District Collector Krishna Kant Pathak said Gulam Shavir S Q Younis Mohalla of Khipro in Pakistan and Mohammad Islam Mustafa of Ghotki caught while trying to illegally cross into India from Pakistan side.

''Even after completing the jail terms, releasing them is likely to pose security threats for the nation. Keeping this in view, on the recommendations of District Superintendent of police Navjyoti Gogoi, it has been decided to keep both of them in jail,'' he said.

The Rajasthan High Court has also confirmed the continuation of jail term of prisoners in cases which come under the purview of National Security Act.

Pakistan national Phogia's jail term was extended due to the same reason.
