Punjabi singer held for clicking girl in ladies loo
Chandigarh, Oct 10 (UNI) Punjabi singer Gursevak Mann was arrested today for allegedly taking photographs of a girl in the ladies' washroom of a pub in Panchkula district of Haryana.
Gursevak, who is brother of celebrated Punjabi singer and actor Harbhajan Mann, was arrested after he surrendered before the Haryana Police this morning--two days after he was booked on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman, Panchkula SP Balbir Singh told UNI. He was booked under Sections 294 and 354 of the IPC.
The singer was later produced in the court of Panchkula Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A D Gaur, who granted him bail on surety bond of Rs 20,000.
Neha, a local girl, had alleged that Gursevak had clicked her photographs in the ladies' washroom of a Panchkula pub on Friday.
The Chandimandir police had registered an FIR against Gursevak on Sunday and had launched a manhunt to nab the singer.
Gursevak, who initially denied the charges saying he was being targeted for being a public figure, had been untraceble after the FIR was lodged.
