Punjab govt enhances DA by five per cent
Chandigarh, Oct 10: As a Diwali gift to its employees, the Punjab government has enhanced Dearness Allowance (DA) from 24 per cent to 29 per cent with effect from July one this year.
Stating this here today Punjab Finance Minister Surinder Singla said that the arrears of DA from July one to September 30 would be paid in cash to the employees.
He said that from October onwards the enhanced DA would be added in the salaries of the employees.
The minister said that with the enhancement of DA, the financial liability on state exchequer from July one to February 28 next year would be to the tune of Rs 112.59 crore while the annual liability would be Rs 168.88 crore.
