Police official commits suicide

Coimbatore, Oct 10 (UNI) A 35 year-old police officer, who was a recepient of President's police medal working in Crime Branch Record Section today allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison after administering the same to his daughter Vairharani(8), son Vijay(6), mother-in-law Mutheswari(45) and brother's mother-in-law Kammalammal (60).

Police said Nataraj was very upset since his wife Bhuvaneswari committed suicide about one- and a half months ago.

Ms Bhuvaneswari, who was running a chit fund, took the extreme step after she found herself in huge debts due to mismanagement of finance.

After Bhuvaneswari's death, the people who invested in the chit fund, demanded the money back from Nataraj.

Unable to repay the money, Nataraj and his family decided to commit suicide.

Police said Nataraj's father Velliangiri, who is residing nearby, came to Nataraj's house today afternoon and found the entire family dead.
