One person succumbs to fever in metropolis

Mumbai, Oct 10 (UNI) One person died in last 24 hours due to rain related diseases while 337 others are admitted in various civic and some private hospitals in the metropolis.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) spokesperson Saudagar Jadhav told reporters here today that one person died due to fever in a civic hospital. A total of 298 persons are admitted in 20 different civic hospital across the city and 39 others admitted in private hospitals, he informed.

Among the 298 admissions in civic hospitals, there are 50 suspected cases of malaria, seven suspected cases of leptopirosis and one suspected case of dengue. Among the patients admitted in private hospitals, there are three suspected cases of leptopirosis and 36 suspected cases of dengue.

The BMC health department has urged Mumbaikars not to ingore any kind of fever and to immediately seek medical relief.
