Monsoon weak over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka
Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.
Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.
Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): K.R.Nagara, Mudigere 4 each; Puttur, Turuvekere, Magadi, Shiralkoppa 3 each; Yadgir, Nargund, Nelamanagala, Belur, Alur, Balehonnur, Chikmagalur, Chintamani Observatory 2 each; Shahapur, Periyapatna, Sravanabelgola, Sakleshpura, Virajpet, Hassan 1 each.
Maximum temperatures rose at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and changed little over Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Minimum temperatures rose at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. They were normal over the State.
Gulbarga recorded the highest maximum temperature of 33.6 degree Celsius and Belgaum AP recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 19.4 degree Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over the State.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Mysore, Hassan, Mandya, Kolar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban, and Tumkur districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.
Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night. Maximum&minimum temperatures would be around 29 degree Celsius and 20 degree Celsius respectively.
