MLA's daughter alleges harassment
Indore, Oct 10 (UNI) The mysterious disappearance of BJP MLA's daughter took a new turn today when the Mahila Utpidan Virodhi Morcha (MUVM) presented the girl before a news channel and alleged that she left home because of harassment by her brother.
MUVM Convenor Vijaya Pathak said Chanda, who lived with her brother Narendra at his house at Nalkheda in Shajapur district, was regularly harassed.
She said Chanda, who had been in contact with her for a year, was keen to study further but her brother wanted to marry her off.
Giving clean chit to BJP MLA Phoolchand Bedia, Ms Pathak said Mr Bedia was under pressure from his son. However, she demanded his resignation for not protecting her daughter's rights at his home.
Chanda accused her brother of beating her and holding her captive. On family member's claim that she was demented, Chanda asked how could she secure 72 per cent marks in class XII if that was the case.
Ms Pathak said the government must arrange for further studies of the girl besides her security. She will also urge police for her security.
Meanwhile, state BJP Mahila Morcha president Anju Makhija said it was wrong to politicise the matter and it was necessary to talk to Chanda's family members before coming to a conclusion.
However, she added that the BJP will support the girl, if some thing wrong had happened with her.
Earlier, as a per a UNI report from Shajapur, a missing case was registered in the district in connection with Chanda's disappearance late last night.
