Mayor's Cup National Chess tourny to begin on Oct 11

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 10 (UNI) The All-India Mayor's Trophy Chess tournament will begin here at Kalash Mangal Karyalay from Octber 11.

Leading players from all over the country would vie for top honours during the five-day meet, which is being organised by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) under the auspices of the All-India Chess Federration and Maharashtra Chess Association, according to a release issued by the organisers said here today.

The winner will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while the second and third finisher will take home Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 respectively.

There will also be cash prizes for the fourth to tenth finisher.

Every participant will get a certificate, the release said.
